Yuki x Kyo (One-Shot)
My first story is a Furuba Yuki x Kyo. This one was written without any sort of organization, beforehand. I hate outlines and never really follow them anyways.
The story takes place at the Sohma Summer House. (I don't why I capitalized the name, but I'm too lazy to change it, yet I not too lazy to type this. Huh.) Kyo and Yuki are 17. Let's just say it was during the summer.
The rating's PG for Kyo's mouth.

“You like Yuki, don’t you?” Hatsuharu asked, even though it was more of a statement than a question. My face heated up.
“O-Of course not, you dumb cow!” I mentally cursed myself for stuttering. Haru grinned.
“I think it’s cute,” He remarked. “The way you deny it. It’s cute.”
“What are you talking about!? I don’t like that damn rat!” I protested. It wasn’t working. Haru just continued to smile.
“Oh yeah? Then why did you stop suddenly when we were sparring?” He looked at me. “I’ll tell you why,” He began, not letting me speak, “It’s because Yuki was walking past on his way to the pool. Shirtless. You stopped and stared at him with a lovesick expression!”
I gulped, but didn’t let any more of my discomfort show. “That’s because I was thinking of Tohru!” I said in my defense.
Haru sighed.
“We’ll fight later. You have some love issues to work out. I’m going swimming.” He walked toward the summer home. “Later!” He called out over his shoulder.
“Get back here, cow!” I shouted after him. Haru just waved and kept going. I flipped him off. ‘Damn, I really hate itwhen that cow is right! …Wait, did I just say that Haru was right about me liking Yuki? Impossible!’ I mentally sighed. ‘I really do like him. Aw, man, I really do like him!’
“Crap,” I muttered. ‘I really hate that cow.’
I plopped down on the grass to rest. My fight with Haru lasted longer than I thought. When we had started, the sun was barely up. Now it’s shining bright in the sky. ‘I should go swimming. It’s starting to get hot.’ I yawned and sat up, stretching. ‘I’ll just float in the pool on a raft or something.’ I thought, realizing that I was exhausted. I slowly made my way to the house. When I reached it, Hatsuharu walked out in his black and white swim trunks and a towel. He looked over at me.
“Going swimming, Kyo?” He asked. I nodded. “Tired from the fight?” The ox guessed.
“How’d you know?”
He laughed. “That fight lasted forever, man! Even Yuki would have trouble standing after that! I can barely walk and standing here is making my legs numb.”
“Then go, stupid. No one’s keeping you here,” I said, trying to keep the blush off of my face from picturing Yuki in that situation. Hair stuck to his face by sweat, panting, eyes carrying a sparkle, a sexy smirk on his face... ‘Would he look like that after…sex?’ A waving hand interrupted my fantasizing.
“What!?” I growled. Haru put his hands up in a defense position.
“Calm down, man! You were out of it,” He explained.
“Whatever,” I said and went inside.
After changing into my dark orange swim trunks and taking a quick shower, I trudged outside on the nice, cool grass to the pool. Luckily, the only cement out there was near the pool, so I didn’t need to worry about burning my feet. I went to a small table protected by a tree. Yuki, Haru, Shigure, and Tohru were already in the water. Hatori was being bothered by Ayame and Momiji was somewhere around here; his towel draped next to Tohru’s.
I sat down in the chair, dozing, when I heard something behind me. I thought it was cat. They always like pestering me when I’m alone. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a cat, but Momiji. Only if I had realized it sooner, I wouldn’t be dripping wet in the pool right now.
Momiji giggled. Tohru gasped. And practically everyone else, besides Hatori and Yuki (but I could tell that they were amused) busted out laughing. I hissed and pulled a surprised Momiji into the water. He came up crying.
“Waaaaah!! Tohru-kun,” He whined, “Evil Kyo tried to drown me!” I glared at him.
“You almost killed me!” I yelled, “And what do you mean, Evil Kyo! You wanna see evil? I’ll show you evil!” And with that I pounced on him, taking both of us under. I could barely hear Tohru’s cries to “Stop!” as Momiji struggled against me. He managed to escape, bringing my swim trunks with him. I gasped and then proceeded to choke on water. I felt a hand yank me up. It was Yuki. I blushed, hoping he would take it as anger.
“Oh Kyo~,” Momiji sang,” Are you missing something?” He held up my trunks and swam off to the deep end.
“GIVE ME THOSE RIGHT NOW, YA DAMN RABBIT!” I screamed, chasing after him. I had almost caught up to him, when I felt a sharp pain in my neck and passed out.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The first thing I saw was Haru’s face smiling at me. “What do you want?” I grumbled.
“I’m supposed to answer any questions you may have about what happened.” He replied. “Hatori sent me,” he explained after seeing the confused look on my face. I nodded, accepting his answer.
“Alright. For starters, who knocked me out?”
“Yuki.” He answered. ‘Yuki?’
“Why?”
“He said that he wanted to shut you up, but I think that he just wanted to keep you from over exerting yourself.”
“Over exerting myself?” I wondered aloud. ‘What’s he mean by that?’
“The fight,” He explained. “I had told Yuki that you were tired from the fight by how slowly you moved. He didn’t want you chasing Momiji just to pass out and drown. Since we all know you can’t swim,” He added.
I was speechless. Yuki was worried about me? This made me forget the “You can’t swim” comment. I blushed then groaned as Haru noticed it.
“You do like him!” He shouted, pointing at me. “I knew it!”
I scowled. “I do not! Get that through your damn head, you idiot!”
“You should stop denying the obvious. Even Tohru knows that something is up,” Haru said, standing up. “I’m hungry. You want anything?” I shook my head. “Suit yourself. Oh, and Hatori is taking me and Momiji home soon. He feels that Momiji isn’t safe around you right now.” He left the room. ‘Smart man, that Hatori.’
I swung my feet over the edge of the bed and sat up. I took note of my surroundings. Why was I in Yuki’s room? I gasped. ‘I’m in Yuki’s room!’ How many fantasies have started with me waking up here? I stood up, shakily, and realized that I was only wearing orange boxers. That meant someone changed me. Before I could go through the list of suspects, a voice startled me.
“Kyo?” A soft voice called out. And of course it was Yuki. I was hoping to make it to my room before he saw me. I turned to face him.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing.” He glanced out his window.
“How come I’m in your room and not mine?” I really wanted to know this.
He continued to look out the window. “It had started to rain, so I—we carried you inside. You had a towel on of course. My room was closer so I—we dropped you in here. You were out for 3 hours. Sorry.”
I let this sink in. He knocked me out so I wouldn’t pass out from lack of rest. He carried me inside when it rained. He took me to his room.
“You don’t have to apologize. I probably would have passed out and drowned if you didn’t stop me.” I said. He smiled slightly.
“Miss Honda is fixing dinner right now. Can you make it down stairs okay?” I inwardly smiled at his concern. ‘Hecareshecareshecares!’ I thought over and over again.
“Of course! I’m not some stupid weakling, ya know,” I replied, slightly irritated. ‘I am perfectly capable of walking. Although I wouldn’t mind him carrying me down there…’ I quickly directed my attention elsewhere. ‘Sure is a nice night tonight.’
“I know you aren’t weak. Believe me, you are far from weak.” Yuki tilted his head slightly and smiled. “Haru told me about your fight with him. If you keep that up, you’ll beat me in no time, Kyo-kun.” Before I had a chance to ask about the newest addition to my name, he had already left the room. However, a few minutes later, I heard his voice screaming “Get out!” I sighed and reluctantly went downstairs. ‘Don’t be Ayame, don’t be Ayame!’ I chanted over and over in my head.
“But, Yuki, this is my chance to deepen our brotherly bond!” Damn. It’s Ayame.
When I reached the kitchen, I could see Yuki glaring at his brother and Ayame pouting. Tohru was looking back between the two, probably hoping that the “rift” wouldn’t get bigger. Shigure just stood there, staring at the snake, shaking his head in mock disappointment. Hatori, Haru, and the brat must’ve already left. They were nowhere to be found.
“I don’t care. Now, get out!” Yuki shouted. But, Ayame wasn’t paying attention to Yuki. He had unfortunately noticed me and was coming this way. ‘Damn!’
“Oh, hello, Kyonkichi!”
“Quit calling me that!” Of course he ignored me and kept going.
“I bet you’re wondering why the Great Ayame has decided to join you on your vacation, right?” Not waiting for an answer he went on. “You see, ‘Gure-san over there invited me. And I, the Fabulous, Great Ayame, could not say no to sweet ‘Gure-san.”
I turned to look—no, glare at Shigure. He ‘eeped’ and ran out of the room. Ayame followed him.
“I’ll be back, sweet brother!”
“I don’t care! Just leave!” Yuki unclenched his fists. ‘Should I be noticing small things like that?’ I vaguely wondered.
Shigure and Ayame were talking in the living room. I couldn’t hear most of what they were saying and I don’t think I wanted too, either.
“Um, wasn’t that nice of Ayame-san to join us?” Tohru said, attempting to start a conversation. I honestly don’t know why she bothered sometimes.
“No,” Yuki and I both said. I looked away and he blushed. Confusion was written all over Tohru’s face.
“Did something happen between you two?” She asked. We didn’t say anything. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to pry. It was none of my business anyway.” She hurried back to the stove to finish dinner.
I left the kitchen, leaving Yuki to reassure Tohru that she did nothing wrong, and went outside. Sighing contently as the cool breeze hit my body, I climbed up the side of the house to the roof. I watched the sunset.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Yuki asked, settling next to me. ‘Where did he come from…?’
“Yeah—I mean if you’re interested in that kind of stuff.” I answered. ‘It’s not as beautiful as you.’
“I never really get a chance to appreciate its beauty as much as you do. I’m not really an outside person.” He sighed. I felt the need to cheer him up.
“Well, duh,” I said, “Rats stay inside. Cats prefer the outside, stupid.” ‘Is that how you cheer someone up? By calling them stupid?’
Yuki smiled. “Not all rats stay inside, you know.” He ran a hand through his silky gray hair.
“I know that! Sewer rats live in sewers which are outside, underground. They remind me of you.” ‘Hiding from society.’ I brought my hands behind my head and laid down, one knee up.
Yuki stared at me. “Do I really smell that much?” ‘What the hell?’
“No, you idiot! Not that! For some strange, unexplainable reason, you never smell. Even when we finish fighting, you smell like vanilla. Prince Yuki can do anything, I suppose.”
He leaned back, arms propping him up, and stared at the now dark sky. “You know what I hate about our school?”
“No, what?” ‘What is he talking about?’
“Fangirls.” Was his one word answer. I laughed. He scowled. “Oh stop it. Or have you forgotten about Kagura?”
“Dammit. Why did you have to go and bring that up? You ruined the mood…” I pouted, facing the pool. The water sparkled in the moonlight. ‘Now is the perfect time to go swimming. No interruptions. Nice night, too.’
Yuki suddenly yawned. “I’m tired.”
“No you aren’t. You just yawned ‘cuz it’s ‘in’.” I said, sarcastically. He didn’t hear me though. The idiot had already fallen asleep. ‘If I don’t bring him in, Tohru is gonna have a fit.’ I sighed for like the millionth time and went to pick Prince Charming up. When I reached for him, he opened his eyes and smirked before pouncing on me and pinning me down.
“Gotcha,” He whispered, then brought his lips to mine. ‘My first kiss…And with Yuki.’ I felt like a little girl who just got a pony. I kissed back of course. If only we didn’t need air…Yuki broke the kiss and smiled down at me.
“How’d you know?” I asked.
“You talk in your sleep.” ‘I knew that annoying habit was going to come in handy some day!’
“How long?”
“You ask a lot of questions,” he chuckled. “I’ve liked you since the time we played badminton with Uo-san and Hana-san. You have no idea how hot you looked all sweaty with that determined look on your face.”
I blushed. “You’ve liked me for a whole year?” He nodded and kissed me again. This time there was a flashed. We both froze and looked towards the source. Shigure and Ayame were standing on the balcony. Shigure had the camera. They smiled and waved happily.
“Blackmail! Alright!” They cheered, and gave each other the ‘thumbs up’ sign.
Yuki smiled evilly. “You wanna kick some ass?” He asked. ‘As if he needed to ask!’
“Hell, yeah. I get the dog, you get the snake,” I proposed. He nodded in agreement, then stood up and extended a hand towards me. I took it and grinned.
“Let’s do this.”
Shigure and Ayame darted back into the house. Yuki and I chased after them.
